Abel Ferreira
Abel Fernando Moreira Ferreira (born 22 December 1978) is a Portuguese professional football manager and former player. He is the head coach of Campeonato Brasileiro Série A club Palmeiras.
As a player, he was known simply as Abel and played as a right-back. He amassed 234 Primeira Liga matches over 11 seasons with Vitória de Guimarães, Braga and Sporting CP. With Sporting CP, he won two Taças de Portugal and two Supertaças Cândido de Oliveira.
Ferreira started working as a manager in 2013, being in charge of Sporting CP B, Braga B, Braga, PAOK and Palmeiras. With the latter, he won the Copa do Brasil in 2020, two successive Copa Libertadores in 2020 and 2021 and the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A in 2022 and 2023.
